EUROVISION 2007: THE LHASA TUMBAI - VERKA SERDYUSHKA PHENOMENON IS THE REAL WINNER!

Ten years ago, the Ukrainian artist Andrei Danilko (34 years old today, non-gay, non-drag queen) created the persona of Verka Serdyushka, in order to satirise the Ukrainian way of life (and, of course, to make some money). Just like the American actor Divine had done in the remarkable John Waters films Hairspray and Polyester, ridiculising the American Dream.

Yesterday night in Helsinki the Finns made a terrible accounting mistake during the 2007 Eurovision Contest points attribution, and only this morning the TRUE results have been released. Here is the irrefutable truth: the real winner of Eurovision 2007 is Verka! In the following video you can see her receiving the Eurovision 2007 prize.



Why I like Verka?

Because she reminds me of Divine, who satirised mercilessly the "American Dream" in the 70-80's. The film "Hairspray" is unforgettable.

Because she is much friendlier than Marija Serifovic (the Serbian false-winner).

Because she says that "Lhasa Tumbai" means "beat up the butter" in Mongolian.

Because the Mongolian embassy sais that "Lhasa tumbai" means absolutely nothing.

(except "Russia goodbye", perhaps :))))))

Because she is much prettier than Marija Serifovic.

Because she says "don't live to dance! Dance to live..."

Because she smiles much more often than Marija Serifovic.

Because she has been fiercely attacked by the Ukrainian nationalists.

Because she says "ok, happy end" in the end.
